Discover Nature and Outdoors
The Mornington Peninsula boasts an incredible array of natural wonders, many of which are designed for accessible enjoyment.
Arthurs Seat Eagle
Experience breathtaking panoramic views of the bay and peninsula from accessible gondolas. The loading and unloading areas are designed for ease of access. They have changing places toilets located at the base station. The facility is locked, and a MLAK (Master Locksmith Association Key) is required to access it. You can borrow a MLAK key from the Mornington Peninsula Visitor Information Centre or obtain it from the Arthurs Seat Eagle Base Station reception desk.
Funky Farm (Bookings are essential)
Chris, Sam and the daughter Ziva have grown the farm into a specialised facility for Specials needs adults and children to come and interact with all kinds of Australian native animals ranging from Snakes, lizards to dingoes, kangaroos and of course the iconic Koala. Unlike most sanctuaries you are given the opportunity to come up close and personal with their beloved animals. They are wheelchair accessible.

Moonlit Sanctuary
Moonlit Sanctuary is easily accessible for those with limited mobility, or who have prams to manage, with access provided by ramps and wide doors throughout the Sanctuary. Toilets with full disabled access and baby change facilities are located in the cafe and gift shop building. They also have night tours which are done well. Tours take 1 1/2 to 2 hours to complete and begin between 7:00pm and 8:30pm depending on the time of the year. Bookings are essential as numbers are limited.
Point Nepean National Park
The history of Point Nepean spans back thousands of years to the Bunurong people and it has also played an important role in shaping the early European settlement and defence of Australia, being used to quarantine people arriving in Victoria, defending the colony and for military training. Wheelchair accessible. Beautiful place with history of the place and you can even pack a picnic. There is a coffee truck there!
Cape Schanck Lighthouse
Right at the tip of the Peninsula, the classic Australian white-and-red Cape Schanck Lighthouse has guided boats and ships into Port Phillip Bay since 1859. While wheelchair users won’t be able to ascend to the top of the lighthouse, the grounds, museum and the main lookout, with incredible views over the Bass Strait, all have level access. A second lookout, with views over the eastern side of the Victorian mainland, is accessible via the first section of the Two Bays Walking track.
Beach Access
The Mornington Peninsula Shire has installed beach matting (until April) at the following beaches: Mt Martha, Rosebud, Mothers Beach, Rye front beach and Sorrento front beach. There is limited access (rails and ramps), but no beach matting at Point Leo and Mills beaches.
Sailability
Sailability is a sailing program that offers an additional level of support, volunteers and equipment to assist people of all abilities to get into sailing. Sailability programs are available at the following Mornington Peninsula yacht clubs over the summer months:

McClelland Sculpture Park + Gallery
McClelland welcomes visitors and is committed to making its programs and services widely accessible.
Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery
The Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery is designed with accessibility in mind. It offers free entry, accessible parking, and ramps for easy entry and movement within the building. They also provide large print labels, and have a limited number of wheelchairs available for loan. The gallery is generally accessible for those with mobility aids and those who benefit from fixtures to aid balance.
The Enchanted Adventure Garden
While some areas involve gradients, large portions of the gardens, including many of the mazes and beautiful walking paths, are wheelchair-friendly, offering a magical experience. Check their accessibility map for details.
Alba Hot Springs
All the buildings and pathways are wheelchair accessible as are several of the pools. Alba has wheelchairs available for loan from reception. Four of the pools have the provision for a hoist with a sling, including one of our private pools on The Terrace.
Please contact the reservations team prior to your visit, so they can arrange for a hoist to be set up at the pool or pools of your choice.
Mornington Railway
If heritage railways are your thing the Mornington Railway runs steam- and diesel-engine services on Sundays. All three services have wheelchair-accessible carriages, but phone ahead to ensure that there are enough wheelchair spaces available.

Accessible Dining Experiences
The Mornington Peninsula is renowned for its diverse culinary scene, and many establishments are committed to providing accessible dining experiences. From charming cafes serving local produce to award-winning wineries and restaurants, you’ll find welcoming venues that cater to all guests.
St Andrews Beach Brewery
St Andrews Beach Brewery is now a state-of-the-art brewhouse. There are three separate entertainment areas, all of which serve food and drink and are wheelchair-accessible. There’s an accessible toilet and disabled parking bay directly out front.
Pt Leo Estate
Pt Leo Estate restaurants, cellar door and sculpture park are wheelchair accessible. Buggies are also available to transport guests from their vehicle to the restaurant. There is one disabled toilet near the entrance to the venue and one ambulant toilet located in our Sculpture Park. Guests are encouraged to hire mobility aids if assistance is required to tour the sculpture park.
Martha's Table
Martha’s Table offers four distinctive experiences where the ever-changing menus, produce and wines correspond with Mornington Peninsula and Mediterranean flavours. Martha’s beautiful ingredients are simply grilled over wood and charcoal and the Mediterranean-inspired menu is here to please everyone.
